GARDEN CABIN
Our first commission as team Hunker Down! Garden Cabin was built in the summer of 2020, with the aim of creating a comfortable garden workspace overlooking the surrounding countryside.
All aspects of aesthetic and functionality were carefully considered to make the space light but feel cosy.
Sustainability was incorporated throughout e.g., by using reclaimed floorboards and 2nd hand double-glazed units for the windows, which had bespoke frames made up for them by Bristol-based joiner Johnny Pryor.
In addition, the cabin is off-grid, with mains power and lighting provided by a solar array mounted on the roof, and
heating by a handmade wood-burning stove from Glastonbury Burners.
